Indoor street food market Big Feed returns on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March 2017, bringing an eclectic culinary experience back to the city. The first Big Feed event earlier this month drew large crowds and following the large appetite for the event, the next installment will take place over two days and will offer even more choice from some of the most interesting food trucks Scotland has to offer.
Based in Govan, Big Feed is a brand new venture set up by a number of the city’s street food vendors and the industrial indoor venue will once again play host to some of the best street food concepts and local brewers, set against a backdrop of live music.
Returning vendors will include Chompsky, Street Food Putter Club, Charlie Mills Coffee, ShrimpWreck, Nomad Pizza and Freddy and Hicks, while Big Feed newcomers Firedog, The Buffalo Truck, Haggisman, Bruadair, Julie’s Street Kitchen, The Travelling Tea Room and Thorntonhall Farmhouse Ice Cream will make their debut appearance. There will also be a mobile Prosecco bar and Scottish craft beers to enjoy.
The warehouse location at 249 Govan Road is run by Glasgow the Caring City – a charity which supports children and young people in crisis at home and overseas in a number of ways, including providing skills to help them gain employment.
The first Big Feed supported the cause through making use of the venue and donating a share of the proceeds, as well as by commissioning some of the young apprentices in the programme to prepare for the event. The second Big Feed will continue to support the charity in the same way.
Charlie from Charlie Mills Coffee, one of the organisers behind Big Feed, said: “Following the success of the first event, we’re excited to be bringing Big Feed back this weekend and making it even bigger and better. Street food is really gathering momentum in the UK and it’s fantastic to have joined forces with other vendors to establish Big Feed at the forefront of the scene in Glasgow. Govan is the ideal location and we’re proud to be able to bring this exciting new experience again, while supporting a very worthwhile charity at the same time.”
The event will run from 12noon until 10pm on Saturday 25th March and from 12noon until 7pm on Sunday 26th March 2017. There is a £1 entry fee on the door and free entry for kids under 10 years old. Free parking is also available.
