Glasgow DJ hails TRNSMT gig as best yet – and it’s all down to the crowds

Local DJ Sean Claude hailed last week’s TRNSMT festival as his favourite ever gig – and he said it was all thanks to the crowds. Sean, who’s played in the French Alps, Ireland and across the UK, took to the Smirnoff House stage for a second year to delight revellers with a barrage of Tech House tunes.

And being able to play to a home crowd was a personal highlight for Sean Claude (real name Sean Callaghan) who has been taking the dance scene by storm since winning the Coors Light DJ Quest in 2016.

Performing across the three days, the 28-year-old from Uddingston, played alongside a host of great talent including acclaimed DJ and producer Rebecca Vasmant as well as Sub Club heroes Harri and Dominic.

The DJ who also hosts a monthly show on Glasgow’s Groove City Radio, said: “The crowd really gained momentum over the course of the three days and I was really blown away by the atmosphere.

“It was really special playing to the home crowd at such a big festival, and it meant that a lot my friends managed along to support me. You really can’t beat a Scottish crowd.

“The Smirnoff House stage was a great experience and I’m glad that I was asked back again this year to play. I’d like to say a big thanks to the Smirnoff House team who looked after everyone so well to make it an unforgettable few days.

“The whole weekend was amazing, however playing a three-hour set on Sunday in front of an enthusiastic crowd who really went for it was pretty special.”

“The entire festival was really well organised and everyone who was there, was there for a good time – it’s been my favourite gig so far.

“I’m in Ibiza just now and have been chatting to some promoters and hoping to have a set lined up before heading home. It’s been a great start to the summer and I’m looking forward to seeing what the next few months hold.”
