Hen of the Woods has taken over the kitchen at The Glad Cafe in Shawlands. Their new vegan and vegetarian dishes are from the award-winning team at The Hug and Pint on Great Western Road.
Currently the daytime residencey involves serving breakfast, brunch and lunch every day from 10am.
Poached eggs with salted yoghurt and chilli brown butter tofu chettinad is popular at weekend. Then there are dishes like sesame and chilli broth with ramen noodles, topped with broccoli, charred and fresh spring onions and wakame or buttered greens, herby whipped feta and a poached egg, topped with Aleppo chilli, toasted seeds and served on a charred flatbread.
