Hilton Glasgow have announced that Ryan Neill will be leading their culinary team. Ryan joins from Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond where he spent six years as Executive Chef. Ryan studied sports therapy at College before deciding his passion lay in catering. He started at Cameron House in 2001 as a trainee, working his way up to Executive Sous Chef in 2008 and Executive Chef in 2011, responsible for 55 chefs and 25 kitchen porters spread across six kitchens.
He received the Acorn Award in 2012 which recognises aspiring and inspiring leaders under 30 in the catering industry.
In 2013 he was recognised with the Hotel Chef of the Year (more than 250 covers) at the Hotel Cateys, the hotel industry’s awards recognising operational excellence.
Planning and cooking a lunch for the Queen on her Diamond Jubilee is a personal highlight of his time at Cameron House. For four years Ryan looked after the Scotland National Football Team before key international matches, collaborating with sports scientists to ensure the players would be in peak condition to play.
Calum Ross, General Manager of Hilton Glasgow told us: “I am delighted to have Ryan join the team at Hilton Glasgow. Ryan comes with a very impressive track record of quality which is demonstrated by his many awards.
