This year marks 200 years since Madame Clicquot created the world’s first blended Rosé Champagne and to celebrate, Hutchesons are keeping her spirit of creativity and entrepreneurship alive by hosting an exclusive Colourama Champagne dinner where guests can Meet The Maker.
The Merchant City restaurant explains: “In the same way artists blend colours, Veuve Clicquot blends wines. The Veuve Clicquot Colorama Dinner draws inspiration from the world of painting and re-interprets the art of blending in a very modern, vivid and enticing way.
“We are honoured to welcome the charming Bertrand Varoquier, to host the evening. Bertrand Varoquier is a native son of Champagne, born in the heart of the region in the town of Reims; as he puts it, “my blood is bubbly”. For the past six years of his extensive 18-year wine career, he has been at Veuve Clicquot”.
Guests will enjoy a five-course dinner, complete with a Champagne pairing, designed to maximise the flavour profile of each glass.
