Liberté Bar departed abruptly but that bar-shaped hole in the pantheon of Charing Cross entertainment venues has been filled By Sualdo’s, a Mexican summer pop-up from the people behind the nearby Berkelely Suite and Bananamoon on Great Western Road. A seat in the beer garden to the back is a prized commodity when the sun is shining.

Sualdo’s will be here until 1st September. Enjoy their adventurous, idiosyncratic take on Mexican inspired dishes. Think green chorizo taco, grilled short rib with burnt jalapeno, churro with yeast, seaweed caramel and smoked chocolate. Then there’s “cod ceviche, salted gooseberries and spruce oil tiger’s milk”, which we are going to investigate further next week. Everything is made from scratch in-house.

Visit while you can: Sualdo’s, 41 North Street, G3 7DL
