Stuart Murdoch, Belle & Sebastian: Well this is alright Glasgow! I wish you were up here with me! Welcome to Glasgow Green!

Summer well and truly landed in Glasgow as the evening sun split the sky for indie heroes Belle and Sebastian who performed their biggest ever-Scottish show tonight on the Main Stage. A huge crowd enjoyed Belle and Sebastian classics including ‘Boy With the Arab Strap’ and in true Belles fashion, the band invited festival-goers on stage for the tradiotional stage invasion. As fans danced in glee around the band in front of thousands of music fans, only one thing remained…

The two and a half hour set from Radiohead was the talk of the town and as the band emerged onstage the crowd went wild.

Front man Thom Yorke had the crowd in the palm of his hand, welcoming the Glasgow audience with a fixating smile. As the sun began to set on Glasgow Green and as the sky turned beautiful shades of pink behind the clouds, Radiohead pulled out all the stops playing an outstanding setlist of hits and classics including ‘Lucky’, ‘Everything in its Right Place’, ‘Reckoner’, ‘No Surprises’ and ‘ Fake Plastic Trees’.

As ‘Karma Police’ roared out into the TRNSMT festival crowd, huge sing-alongs from the Glasgow crowd bellowed around the Green with fans carrying the chorus into a euphoric state. A

A joyous and relaxed vibe swept the Glasgow Green site last night making it an successful first showing for Scotland’s newest and biggest festival.

TRNSMT Festival Director, Geoff Ellis: “It’s been an incredible first day at TRNSMT, the crowd have been amazing. It’s been a truly brilliant atmosphere with every act knocking it out the park, especially London Grammar, Rag ‘N’ Bone Man and Belle & Sebastian. And as the beautiful sun set over Glasgow as Radiohead played, it was truly phenomenal and so well received by the crowd. We can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow for day two.”

For all stage times for days 2 and 3 of the festival plus a handy timetable tool download the FREE TRNSMT app (available via Apple and Android) which allows fans to select the acts they want to see and sends reminders before each set begins.

As always, fans’ safety and enjoyment is the top priority for festival organisers and we encourage all fans to take a look at the festival’s info page for all the latest travel, timings and event safety rules before making their way to this year’s festival.
