Spring is beginning to make its presence felt and restaurants are responding with new menus featuring the best of the season. Sugar Boat is a charming bistro, bar and wine shop on Colquhoun Square in Helensburgh. It caught our attention when it first opened – read our review here – and continues to provide ample reasons to pop on the train from Queen Street Station.
On our last visit, we discovered the Sugar Boat Lunch Club will be convening over the next few months. Gather for a relaxed and informal cookery demonstration in the restaurant, led by head chef Scott Smith. Then, there will be a three course lunch based around the theme of the day.
“Arrive around 10.30 for coffee and a slice of cake and then Scott will take you through to the restaurant where he’ll hold an hour long talk. You’ll be able to get up close, ask questions and taste as you go and if you so feel, take some snaps too. No need to make notes though as we’ll email you a full recipe card after the event” owner Will Smith tells us. The price of the club is £19.50 per person. You can see the dates and menus below.
