Richard Gere will attend the UK premiere of his latest movie release as part of the Glasgow Film Festival. Gere is one of Hollywood’s all-time most famous leading men after career-defining roles in An Officer and A Gentleman, American Gigolo, Pretty Woman and Chicago.
Time Out of Mind tells the story of a homeless man in New York in a gritty and soulful portrayal of urban poverty. Gere plays George, a man who spends his days in search of his next meal and a place to rest on the streets of Manhattan. Accepted into the largest men’s shelter in the borough, he makes a rare connection with a former jazz player who encourages him to reconnect with his estranged daughter.
A gala screening of the film will take place on Sunday 28th February at the GFT with Gere also taking part in a question and answer session on the night.
Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer will also be participating in the festival as she attends the screening of The Forest on Thursday 25th February. Dormer takes the lead role in the supernatural horror movie.
The Glasgow Film Festival’s opening gala will be the UK Premiere of the latest film from Joel and Ethan Coen. Hail, Caesar is an all-star comic extravaganza, a glorious tale of old Hollywood set during the latter days of the studio system in the early 1950s. The all-star cast includes George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Tilda Swinton, Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum and Alden Ehrenreich.
This year’s festival will include 308 events and 174 films will be shown before the closing event on 28 February, the UK premiere of Anomalisa directed by Duke Johnson and Charlie Kaufman.
