A steak and rugby pop-up bar and restaurant on Woodlands Road has been the talisman for the Scotland team during the current Six Nations campaign. Two of the folk behind the venture are Alastair Kellock, who played for Scotland and Glasgow Warriors, and Stuart Hogg, who has more than 50 caps for the national team. As the name suggests, the restaurant is being operated by the people behind Finsbay, the cafe, bar and restaurant in Milngavie.
The neighbhourhood hangout has been screening international matches on the big screen and attracting a crowd by serving 8oz flat iron steaks at £8 during the week and £10 on the weekends.
As the Six Nations reaches its conclusion this weekend, expect more steaks, cocktails, craft beer, tasty sides like mac n cheese or triple-fried chips and an impressive Sunday roast menu.
There’s been positive reviews and historic sporting wins during the limited run.
Finsbay Flatiron told Glasgowist this morning that it seems “very likely” they will keep the good times going beyond the initial pop-up period. We’ll keep you updated.
In the meantime, book your seat to watch Scotland play Italy at 12.30pm on Saturday.
