Slight Return for the Nineties with Star Shaped Festival

Already this year, Richard Ashcroft, The Stone Roses, Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher have played in Glasgow. The nineties are back, spurred on by retro fashion trends, requests to DJs in bars on Sauchiehall Street and a Trainspotting sequel, creating the right circumstances for a reunion tour with a difference.

Star Shaped Festival is a summer roadshow visiting indie venues with a line-up of Britpop bands that reads like the list of musical guests on a particularly packed episode of TFI Friday.

Headlining, Sleeper play their first gig in 19 years. Led by Louise Wener they are remembered for singles like Inbetweener and Sale of the Century.

Then there’s The Bluetones, ready to cut some rug. Plus Space and Dodgy, alongside My Life Story and a set from members of Salad.

The live performances will be combined with a design exhibition and other visuals.

A night of 100% pure musical nostalgia at O2 ABC Glasgow on Saturday 12th August.
