Inspired by a Scottish fan whose Tweet went viral today, Tennent’s Lager is offering Scots the chance to share a pint with their name-doppelgangers. Scottish Ryan Grenfell sent Australian Ryan Grenfell a random friend request a few years ago and they finally met up for a pint of Tennent’s in Edinburgh when Aussie Ryan flew in this weekend.
Now Tennent’s wants to bring together even more people for a pint by challenging Scots to find their own namesakes on Facebook.
Once they’ve become friends, they should tag them in a comment on Tennent’s Facebook page. The beer will then pick 20 of the newly formed mates, gifting them with the Tennent’s answer to Friendship Bracelets – a case of beer to share.
Says Scottish Ryan Grenfell: “It was brilliant to finally meet my mate with the same name from 10,000 miles away, and what better way to celebrate but with a pint of Tennent’s! Hopefully next time we meet I’ll be enjoying a cold one in the gold coast.”
