Scottish couple Trisha and Kevin McCrae met in Glasgow. They now lead a team of culinary nomads on a journey to visit 20 countries in 20 months, setting up a pop-up restaurant at every stop.
Part social experiment, part food adventure, One Star House Party has visited eight different countries so far, and the next stop is Glasgow.
Trish, Kevin and pal James Sharman from London immerse themselves in the community for a month, then create a new menu inspired by the ingredients that they find, and the experiences that find them.
“Over a year ago we set out on a journey, that has so far taken us half way around the world. It is a culinary adventure that has brought us face to face with ingredients and techniques from
across the world.
Living completely from our restaurant we build it wherever we find ourselves, serving a new menu each month out of everything we discover. Now we are finally coming home, and we are excited to share with Glasgow what we have experienced so far on our journey” explained Trisha McCrae, Co-Founder of One Star House Party.
So far their restaurants have taken them to very different places including the Base camp of Mount Everest, night trains through Vietnam and onto the streets of Mumbai.
This December the team are bringing their restaurant to Glasgow for one week only, serving a seven course tasting menu, made up of their favourite dish from seven of the countries they have built a restaurant in over the past year.
The dinner will include flavours inspired by China, Vietnam, Thailand, Everest Base Camp, India, Oman and South Africa.
The world’s most travelled restaurant will open from the 14th December until the 21st December on Pollokshaws Road.
Reservations are available from the 25th November at 12 noon via their website.
Tickets are priced at £75 per person and their restaurant is BYOB.
