226 Gallowgate bar has announced a temporary closure. This is in part due to the disruption caused by planned public realm streetscape works that has taken over the pavement outside.

It is also related to the social distancing advice that is currently being issued due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Gigs at the nearby Barrowland Ballroom have also been suspended.
226 Gallowgate intend to offer the kitchen of the bar to community groups who may be able to use the facilities to help with any local food needs.
They intend to reopen when circumstances have changed.
The statement below was issued this afternoon.
