Tomorrow Robert Burns will be celebrated across the world. Burns Night is the first big party of the year, a bright spot after January hibernation, a nod to Scotland’s literary past and a good excuse to gather with friends and break out the whisky.
If you are looking for an alternative to some of the more staid, tartan-clad formal Burns Suppers in the city then Sub Club are serving up a remix to the traditional version in their basement to mark the birthday of Scotland’s bard.
Glasgow’s longest-running underground dance venue is taking a break from the beats and turning the stage over to poets and musicians.
Starting from 7:30pm there will contributions from:
Colin McGuire
Rachel McCrum
Jack MacMillan
Kevin Gilday
Iona Lee
Courtney Lynn
Chrissy Barnacle
There will also be some haggis, neeps and tatties to eat and plenty of whisky behind the bar.
The Alternative Burns Supper is hosted by Sub Club and High Flight Fanzine, entry is free.
