This year’s prestigious McIlvanney Prize winner, Alan Parks, is the guest author at the forthcoming Bookface Sip & Swap event in Glasgow on Saturday 28th January.
The writer, who’s amassed fans from all over the world with his best-selling crime novels featuring lead character Harry McCoy, will be discussing his award-winning May God Forgive – book five in his thriller series – with journalist Maggie Barry.This detective novel hits all the Glasgow crime thriller tropes as Alan Parks delivers another satisfying slice of tartan noir.
Praise and plaudits from his literary peers include Ian Rankin, Louise Welsh and Peter May. American writer Bret Easton Ellis described his work as “gripping and violent, dark and satisfying.”
The Bookface Sip & Swap event, held at restaurant and bar Glaschu in Glasgow’s Royal Exchange Square, is an inspirational monthly event where book lovers swap titles and participate in a 45-minute Q&A with some of the UK’s most noted authors; Susannah Constantine, Doug Allan, Paul Trainer, Lisa Gray, Guy Grieve, Helen Fitzgerald, Paul English and Sophie Gravia are just some of the celebrated names who’ve taken part.

Guests are encouraged to bring four books to participate in the sustainable book swap where there are 400 titles to choose from.
Tickets priced £20 which includes Prosecco, brunch and a Lillet cocktail are on sale via Eventbrite.
