The Backstreet Boys are bringing their DNA World Tour to Glasgow – their biggest arena tour in 18 years. The return comes after the successful release of their tenth studio album and the 20th anniversary re-release of their single I Want it That Way.
As a boyband, they rose to fame as a 90s archetype, inspired imitation, dispersed at their peak, then returned to arenas on a wave of nostalgia propelled by a 14 month residency in Las Vegas.
Speaking about their album, DNA, band member Howie D says: “When this group started 26 years ago – and through all the highs and lows of our career – we’ve had to learn it wasn’t about us as individuals but about what’s best for the group. It’s our DNA. We’re really proud of that.”
“The journey is ongoing with us and there is so much left to do,” says Brian Littrell. “We’re living the next chapter that hasn’t been told yet, and that’s exciting.”
Backstreet Boys play the SSE Hydro on Friday 14th June.
