Belle and Sebastian are playing this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival on 20th July at Chicago’s Union Park. The band have announced they will take the opportunity to perform the entirety of their 1996 album If You’re Feeling Sinister.
Belle and Sebastian have performed If You’re Feeling Sinister in full twice before: at London’s Barbican Centre in 2005 and then at Royal Albert Hall in 2016 to mark the record’s 20th anniversary.
Speaking about the band’s upcoming performance, Stuart Murdoch said, “We’re going to try to turn a dark, slim Scottish sketchbook of an album into a warm summer jam for Illinois.”
This summer, Belle and Sebastian will embark on their music festival cruise, the Boaty Weekender. The ship sets sail from Barcelona on August 8 and will make its way to Cagliari, Sardinia before heading back to Spain by August 12. Artists performing on the fest cruise include Belle and Sebastian, Yo La Tengo, Teenage Fanclub, Nilüfer Yanya, Japanese Breakfast, and Mogwai.
