Celtic Connections: Courtney Marie Andrews at O2 ABC

One of last year’s fastest rising stars, singer-songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews, will start a tour of UK and Europe with a show at O2 ABC as part of this year’s Celtic Connections. She will perform further solo shows in Oxford and Guildford in January and February, before returning for a series of full band shows in the Spring.

Americana songwriter, Andrews spent a decade spent at the height of the music industry, touring solo and with large pop bands, before realising her desire for a place to come home to. She found that in a small rural town in the deep forests of Washington State.

There, she posted up at a local bar, slinging drinks, basking in the reflection it allowed. She emerged in 2016 with a new fire on a recording melding indie-folk and with a rebellious country flavour reminiscent of her Southwestern roots.

Courtney Marie Andrews’ album Honest Life grabbed year-end lists from Rolling Stone,Stereogum, Paste, American Songwriter to NPR which lead to her performing on Later… With Jools Holland, alongside Thundercat, Anderson Paak and Spoon.
