The Christmas lights switch-on ceremony at George Square, that was due to take place this Sunday 15th November, has been cancelled. The official start to Glasgow Loves Christmas was expected to attract 12,000 people to the ticketed event that signals the start of the festive period in the city. The event has been abandoned due to bad weather.
Glasgow on Ice will return to George Square on Friday, 27th November and runs until Hogmanay, Thursday 31st December.
Other events over the run up to Christmas include the Style Mile Carnival, Santa Dash, Baby’s First Christmas, St Andrew’s Day and the Christmas markets.
