The Pavilion Theatre has decided to cancel or postpone shows in response to the latest government advice in relation to coronavirus.
A statement this evening set out their position. “We have just been advised by the Scottish Government, Sunday 15th March 2020.
“To protect the capacity of our public services, the Scottish Government advises that organisers should cancel or postpone all mass events of 500 people or more – indoors or outdoors. This approach should be maintained until such time as further advice is issued.
“There is no impact from this advice on other routine activities such as school, travel, shopping and work. This advice is not expected to have a significant impact on the spread of COVID-19, and this is not its purpose. Individuals should continue to observe the medical advice available at NHS Inform.”
Therefore, from Monday 16th March, until further notice, all shows for March and April will be cancelled or postponed.

Iain Stirling – Friday 27th March
The Real Glesga Dance Mums 2 – Wednesday 1st to Saturday 4th April
The Music of Prince – Thursday 16th April
Jonathan Pie: The Fake News Tour – Monday 20th April
Lionel: A Tribute to Lionel Richie – Saturday 25th April
We are currently working with promoters to obtain rescheduled dates in the autumn period for cancelled shows and will keep all customers up to date as quickly as possible, by Friday of this week one way or the other.
Ironically, it is nearly 2 years to the day of our last forced closure with the fire in Sauchiehall Street, which if anything, taught us how to keep everyone up to date with information as detailed and up to date as possible. Thank you for all your recent support over the last couple of days. Where most customers were happy that we continued with the shows, deep down we were aware that this day would come which we feel that the UK Government will make this closure law early next week so the whole country will be in a similar position.
