It’s only 50 days to go until Glasgow Summer Sessions returns to Bellahouston Park in Glasgow’s south side with one of its most iconic line-ups to date. Established in 2013, the concert series has become one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the summer and has hosted some of the biggest names in rock and pop over the years such as The Killers, Eminem, Calvin Harris, Catfish & the Bottlemen, Kendrick Lamar, Kings of Leon and more.
This year Glasgow Summer Sessions boasts headline performances from multiple Brit-award-winning band The 1975, post-punk legends The Cure plus arena-rock heroes Foo Fighters. Bringing Scotland’s epic festival season to a triumphant finale, up to 100,000 music fans will descend on Bellahouston Parkacross the 16th, 17th and 25th August for three unforgettable days of live music from some of the biggest bands in the world.

This year’s line-up is perhaps one of the most eagerly anticipated bills in Glasgow Summer Sessions history.
Band-of-the-moment The 1975 will bring their immense live show to Bellahouston Park. After releasing their critically acclaimed genre-hopping third album ‘A Brief Enquiry into Online Relationships’ last year, the four-piece have won two BRIT Awards for Best British Group and Best British Album and headlined arenas and festivals all over the world.
The 1975 have released consecutive, era-defining, chart-topping records since 2013 and show no signs of slowing down with their fourth album ‘Notes On A Conditional Form’ expected later this year. Bringing unparalleled lyrics to their innovative pop, frontman Matty Healy ensures the band’s live shows are full of hits, energy and non-stop dancing. With one of the most visually spectacular shows around, they are a band who have seized the hearts and minds of a new generation of music fans and their Summer Sessions show is not to be missed.
The Cure’s headline set on Friday16th August will mark the legendary band’s first appearance in Scotland in 27 years, having been tempted back to headline a major Scottish festival for the first time.
Widely regarded as one of the most iconic bands in alternative music, their career spans over 40 years and 13 albums with classic hits like ‘Friday I’m In Love’, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ and ‘Inbetween Days’ just some of the highlights in their extremely impressive repertoire.
A band who have amassed an incredible following all over the world, their return to the Scottish live scene is going to be a night to remember.
Less than 24 hours later, one of the biggest rock bands in the world return to Scotland to headline Glasgow Summer Sessions on Saturday 17th August.
Fronted by the inimitable Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters have one of the most treasured back catalogues in rock with a vast array of iconic rock anthems at their disposal. They are a band whose live shows are renowned around the world and will play Glasgow Summer Sessions for the first time ever.
Alongside all of the international stars that will appear over the course of an incredible three days at Summer Sessions, festival organisers have ensured that there will be a plethora of exciting breakthrough artists who fans can get acquainted, or reacquainted, with.
The 1975 will bring a number of Dirty Hit label-mates to their headline show on the 25th August. A certified breeding ground of new talent, the label is home to the band’s goth-pop prodigies Pale Waves who will play one of their biggest Scottish shows to date following the release of their long-awaited debut album last year. With hit singles like ‘Television Romance’, ‘Eighteen’ and ‘There’s A Honey’ simply made for festival singalongs, the four-piece have cemented their place as one of the best new bands on the scene right now.

Having joined The 1975 onstage throughout their arena tour and becoming the subject of a lot of media hype, popstar-in-waiting No Rome opens proceedings on the final day of Summer Sessions. Born and raised in Manila, where a unique, rapidly changing cultural landscape spurred his desire to break out and make music, the singer was signed by Dirty Hit in 2018 and the rest is history. Collaborating with The 1975’s Matty Healy on the infectious tune ‘Narcissist’, No Rome created another dreamy slice of introspective alt-pop which helps to paint a perfectly fascinating portrait of one of the most exciting new talents to arrive this year.
Ten Tonnes will bring some good-time summery vibes to the park. Ethan Barnett, otherwise known as the brother of George Ezra, is bursting with infectious hooks, chant worthy choruses and buoyant lyrics. The singer songwriter from Hertford, is known for his effortless abilities on stage, and is backed by the likes of Huw Stephens and John Kennedy as an artist to keep an eye on in 2019. Inspired by The Smiths, Dylan and The Beatles, Ten Tonneshas already been busy making waves in 2018; with sold out headline tours and supporting the likes of Stereophonics and Tom Grennan on their own arena tours. The singer released his debut album in April 2019.

Known for their huge riffs, stirring dual vocals and raw attitude, Glasgow’s The Van T’s are a welcomed addition to the bill as they join Foo Fighters on 17thAugust. Their slot will mark a huge milestone for the band as they continue to cement their place among the UK’s elite contingent of rising stars.
On the same day, Hot Milk will make their Scottish festival debut by opening proceedings with their punchy brand of emo powerpop. Having only just released their debut single at the start of the year, they have already supported the likes of You Me At Six and Deaf Havana in a busy few months that has seen them foster a reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting young outfits.
THE RETURN OF TWIN ATLANTIC
Twin Atlantic return to Glasgow Summer Sessions when they take the penultimate slot before The 1975 on Sunday 25th August for what is set to be an incredible home-coming show. Known for their energetic live show and amazing pyrotechnics, the band have grown from indie-rock underdogs to arena-conquering heroes in recent years, stepping their alt-rock attitude up a level with their last singles ‘No Sleep’ and ‘The Chaser’. With a whole album inspired by Glasgow called ‘GLA’, they are sure to go down a storm as they always do in their hometown, with frontman Sam McTrusty even teasing some much-anticipated new music for fans…
