Models Lucy Huggin and Vanessa Wylie wear Fictional Character, one of the designers from Fashioned in Glasgow, which takes place at The Lighthouse on Thursday, 2 March.
Fashioned in Glasgow will host its first fashion show featuring a mix of emerging fashion brands and independent designers.
Fashioned in Glasgow, which was a Kickstarter campaign, wants to help Glasgow feature firmly in the British fashion industry, supporting designers at various stages of their development.
In addition to the fashion show event, Scottish Textile and Leather Association (STLA) will hold its ‘hot off the press’ trends event, which will discuss the latest developments in design, fashion, textiles and products.
The content will be anchored around analysis of new business models driven by the digital age, including the digital disruption of the fashion calendar, market growth areas and sustainable supply chain.
Ian Elder, The Lighthouse said: “We’re delighted to feature both of these events at The Lighthouse, demonstrating Glasgow and indeed Scotland, is ever-evolving in the world of fashion and textile design.”
“It’s estimated there are 355 fashion businesses in Scotland employing 8,400 people. It’s an industry which will continue to grow. Over £756 million is generated each year by Scotland’s fashion and textiles every year, with exports going to more than 150 countries worldwide.”
