Frankie Boyle has written a new book on modern politics, which will be published in October. Your Guide To Hell: Dispatches From The Political Apocalypse mixes the comic’s popular Guardian newspaper columns with new material.
A description of the book explains: “Brexit … Trump … Syria … The Chilcot Enquiry … and now a vicious General Election: it’s not been a good year for the world. Luckily Frankie Boyle is here with his own biting brand of satire, to guide us through this political wasteland we all call home.” Hardback, audio download and ebook formats will be published on Thursday 19th October. It will be his fourth book and his first since 2013.
Commissioning editor at publishers John Murray, Kate Hewson says “I’ve always been a fan of Frankie’s, but when he started writing for the Guardian a few years ago I was blown away by how incisive, complex and humane his pieces were – as well as very, very funny, of course. We’re very excited to be publishing this book, and think he is a brilliant political voice for our times.”
Announcement of the book follows Boyle’s much-anticipate return to television with a BBC Two series, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, which takes a look at political events and social issues.
