A galaxy of comedy stars are coming together for a show to help MND patient and campaigner Gordon Aikman raise money for research into the disease that’s killing him.
Scottish comedy legend Fred MacAulay will perform alongside a series of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival’s hottest tickets including a very special TV comedy star guest (to be revealed on the night). The line up so far is:

Stand Up Against MND will be held on Monday 14th March at the King’s Theatre in Glasgow as part of the city’s International Comedy Festival.
Tickets are £21 and available at the Glasgow Comedy Festival website.
Last year’s show raised around £25,000 for vital research into MND. Gordon Aiken welcomed the show, saying “I’m delighted that so many amazing comedians are coming together to help fund a cure for MND. Last year’s show raised a bucket load of cash for MND research and I’m confident we can raise even more this year. Every ticket gets us closer to that £500,000 fundraising target.”

Fred MacAulay
Having presented the very funny and eventful MacAulay and Co. on BBC Radio Scotland for almost 18 years and with a string of tv appearances, Fred’s on air witticisms and on screen reputation are the product of years of experience on the live circuit, including a stint as the first ever-Scottish compere at the Comedy Store in London. He has successfully featured in and presented many programmes for BBC TV: he hosted the talk show McCoist and MacAulay and presented Life According to Fred, Hoots, Simply Fred and Scots on the Box, as well as the 2014 On The Road magazine programme with Martell Maxwell.
Appearances on many Radio 4 comedy panel shows including I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue, Just A Minute, The Unbelievable Truth and The News Quiz guarantee an audience for Fred’s Live stand-up tours. On national television he has been a panelist on shows including Mock the Week, QI and Have I Got News For You. In addition he was a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson twice on US television and his performance at The Montreal Comedy Festival has been shown coast to coast in North America as well.
Larry Dean
Since being crowned ‘Scottish Comedian Of The Year’ at only 23, Glaswegian comedian Larry Dean has performed a number of high profile shows worldwide, including being the support act for Eddie Izzard, and Stephen K Amos and has appeared on BBC Presents: Best Of The Edinburgh Festival 2014 and 2015, along with being nominated for Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Awards: Best Newcomer 2015.
Susie McCabe
In a short time Susie McCabe has established herself as one of the rising stars of the comedy world. She may be small and look like Jockey Wilson’s stunt double, but she is hard to ignore as this is one little lady with a big mouth. Her tales of everyday life growing up in deepest darkest Lanarkshire as a 5 ft lesbian is a common one we can all relate to. A story of a wasted youth spent smoking fags, playing xbox, watching Glasgow football and being terrified by Crimewatch UK. It can bring a tear to a glass eye.
Gary Little
At 6’3′ Gary Little is an imposing presence on any stage, and he has an abundance of talent to match. He combines hilarious story telling with beautifully crafted jokes, and is one of the hottest Scottish acts working in the UK at the moment. As well as being a surefire hit at home, Gary has also performed in the Middle East and Canada, and sold out an unprecedented 4 shows at the Glasgow Comedy Festival 2013.
Mark Nelson
Mark Nelson is widely considered one of the UK’s most exciting and significant emerging comedy talents. Renowned for his dark sense of humour, sublime gimmick-free material and an unparalleled capacity for creating comedy from the darkest of places, Mark has impressed both industry and audiences alike with numerous sold out solo seasons, his own BBC radio comedy series and a substantial DVD deal with the BBC’s 2Entertain label. Mark received the 2011’s daily telegraph, critics choice.
Micky Bartlett
Ireland’s brightest new comedy star from all series of BBC’s ‘Monumental’, Micky’s unabashed and hilarious observations of life, the world and the people in it, are all served up from the comfort of his own bedroom…
Scott Agnew
Scott Agnew is a Glaswegian stand-up comedian who is in demand as a performer all over the UK and internationally. Fresh from his sell out and critically acclaimed Edinburgh 2012 run at The Stand Comedy Club, Scott Agnew is a stand-up and journalist with TV presenting credits and radio appearances under his belt. He has supported HBO’s Jim Jeffries as well as UK comedy sensation Kevin Bridges at the music festival Rockness, to 12,000 raucous rock fans.
