We like the post work atmosphere at Cùl Cùil on West Nile Street. The right mix of music on the stereo and a fine selection of drinks behind the bar. A place for a chat, a hangout to start or end the night.
Now, after a full kitchen refit, there’s a new menu ready for the summer.

Pop in and grab a corner table in the bar area or take a seat in the the glasshouse that has been extended across the whole mezzanine space, which is where we found ourselves on our most recent visit.
From here you get a good view of their secret garden.

You can hire the space for your own barbecue. Or secure your seat for the last hours of sunshine.
It’s a rarity for a city centre bar to have an open air space. It’s a quirky spot for some pints. This isn’t a smoking area, incidentally, which may appeal to folk out with kids or those looking to dine outside over the summer without the added nicotine.

Back to the food.
Expect big, juicy chargrilled burgers with toppings. The baked camembert is fun to share. Seafood linguine is a new addition and proving popular. There’s some revamped vegan and vegetarian options and a fresh children’s menu too.
Cùl Cùil is at 84-86 West Nile Street.
