Work is underway to transform Pizza Magic takeaway, creating a new Italian restaurant at 70 Hyndland Road extending into the neighbouring unit. Owner Marco Stevenson has been working to secure planning permission for the new venue overlooking Old Station Park since May 2017.
The existing takeaway space will be refitted to extend into the neighbouring shop, previously a newsagent that had been used as a pop-up venue – it was home to Absolute Roasters for a short period.
The transformation will create Nostrana Handcrafted Pizza with a 120 seat dining room at a popular spot in Hyndland, together with terrace seating outside. Original plans were amended to include a smaller al fresco area ahead of approval.
The Pizza Magic website says: ”We are now looking forward to launching our exciting new venture as Nostrana in the coming months.”
Pizza Magic closed on 27 February ahead of the revamp after serving up pizza to the local community for 30 years.
