The Cure returned to the stage in Scotland for the first time in 27 years tonight for day one of Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park. They last appeared in Glasgow when they played the Barrowlands in 1992.
The Cure’s appearance is part of a select run of headline spots at major festivals all over the world during 2019 to celebrate a career now entering its fifth decade.

Throughout this time The Cure have performed around 1,500 concerts, made 13 studio albums and released more than 40 singles.
With new releases imminent, 2019’s line-up of frontman Robert Smith along with long-time band members Simon Gallup (Bass), Jason Cooper (Drums), Roger O’Donnell (Keyboard) and Reeves Gabrels (Guitar) remain a formidable musical force.
Fans travelled from all over the world to see the band perform a full litany of hits during an fascinating, enigmatic set. Support came from Mogwai, The Twilight Sad and The Joy Formidable.
