Sailor Jerry rum is unlocking the doors to Jerry’s Open House; an all-in month-long pop-up in Glasgow from 15th February to 15th March. Set in an old warehouse on Houldsworth Street in Finneston, this co-created space is inspired by the legendary tattoo artist Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins and will be open to local Glaswegian creatives and students.
Events kicks off with Glasgow’s very own Honeyblood on 15th February, get up close and intimate with An Audience with Frank Carter followed by a rare acoustic gig, compete to have your work displayed on the venue walls and enjoy some cocktails. When not hosting, the open space will be available for band rehearsals and society socials
Jerry’s Open House costs £5 a pop for each event, which includes two of Sailor Jerry’s bold drinks and entry to the house. Find out more details here.
JERRY’S OPEN HOUSE-WARMING, 15th February
Be part of the action and see up and coming Glaswegian acts take to the Sailor Jerry stage, with performances from alternative musical duo Honeyblood and special guests. Jerry Loves Ginger and so will you, welcome drinks of Sailor Jerry will be doing the rounds on the night. For a memory of your night at Jerry’s, print your own kick-ass t-shirt featuring authentic flash art work designs. It’s a party not to miss.
All party-goers will be invited to dial it up a notch and keep the party rocking at the official Jerry’s Open House After Party.
HOUSE GUEST: FRANK CARTER, 21st February
Jerry’s Open House will play host to Frank Carter, (of Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes and formerly of the Gallows and Pure Love), for two special events. Bring those burning questions you’ve been buzzing to ask him, and join the open ‘An Audience With’ conversation with Frank during the day. Come night, he’ll be playing the intimate ‘Sailor Jerry Presents’ acoustic gig alongside bandmate Dean Richardson.
BACK 2 BACK, 26th February
Sailor Jerry’s looking for the top artistic talent in Glasgow. If you’ve got the skills – we want to see it. Compete to have your work displayed on the walls of Jerry’s Open House by submitting a design in whatever medium you fancy – as long as it takes inspiration from the father of American old school tattooing Norman ‘Sailor Jerry’ Collins. Email enter@jerrysopenhouse.com to register your interest. Five entrants will be shortlisted by acclaimed artist and Glasgow School of art alumni Peter Rossi.
Winners will be announced at the art workshop on 26th February. As part of the grand prize you’ll get your name in lights via a profile piece in Aesthetica magazine.
