Glasgow singer Joesef’s soulful music has found an audience this year, with single’s Don’t Give In, Loverboy and Limbo getting early support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Miss Vogue, i-D and Gay Times. His debut EP, Play Me Something Nice, is out now.
The record navigates feelings of first love and loss or, as Joesef, puts it, the breakdown of his first relationship, “and how complicated it became for both of us trying to navigate through life without each other.”

He adds, “it’s about a sort of nostalgia and love that continues to linger after the dust has settled.”
The title track itself “is about being lonely and seeking comfort in the familiarity of each other even though everything has fallen apart.”

Last month, Joesef played a sold out show at London’s Omeara.
