Ka Pao continues Southeast Asian kitchen residency in Acid Bar at SWG3

Ka Pao have concluded a successful four-week pop-up at the newly installed Acid Bar, part of the SWG3 entertainment complex. It has now been confirmed that Ka Pao will continue their residency in the bar and restaurant space.

Kicking off next week on 3rd August, the Ka Pao menu will be available on Fridays 6-late, Saturday 12-3pm and 6-late, then Sunday 12-7pm. Unlike this month, the second stage of their dining residency will not be ticketed. People can just book online and can choose dishes from their regularly changing menu on the night.

New dishes include messy prawns with tamarind and palm sugar, salt n pepper oyster mushrooms with pickled mooli, seat trout curry or fried chicken with green chilli dip.

The food at Ka Pao is a riot of compelling, Southeast Asian inspired flavours. We enjoyed our visit to the pop up at Acid Bar so we are glad they are sticking around.

Ka Pao have previously held pop-up events at Café Strange Brew, Yardworks Festival and SWG3’s outdoor gigs in the Galvanizers Yard. Ka Pao Head Chef Sandy Browning, who recently returned from working at the Michelin-starred Nahm in Bangkok told Glasgowist, “SWG3 is a real incubator for creativity in Glasgow, so we are very excited to be joining the community down here.”
