The most important event in The Art School calendar takes place on Friday 9th June. The culmination of another year of exploration, learning, social events, artistry, experimentation, invention and growing is celebrated in a massive event involving an outdoor street party and magnificent late night blow-out.
Through the evening a host of fresh Glasgow musical and DJ talent with be performing across three stages, accompanied by a series of rambling performances pieces, venue dressing, installations and live visual treatments.
The Art School, the Glasgow School of Art’s student association (GSASA), remains one of the most important creative crucibles in the UK for emerging young talent.
The Art School was recently the site from which the BBC announced their prestigious 6 Music festival in 2017 with a three hour live broadcast of the Lauren Laverne radio show.

BART WALTZ Procession of Celestial BodieS // An cosmic inflatable surprise by Pester + Rossi // Sarah McClintock’ singularity
BART WALTZ Procession of Celestial Bodies: This is going to be 5 really big sculptures that do a procession around the street party into the after party. Samba drummers will be accompanying the procession. Pester + Rossi are making a huge inflatable baroque sun for the assembly hall stage. Sarah McClintock’ singularity – this is a installation on the VB stage that will look like a giant black hole that the bands are playing in.
GOL, VAJ.Planet, Tray Tables,Melody Bostic part of the P:SPACE 2000 [Atol Protected] instillation in the project space that will have TV screens and spaceship seating. All the DJs have a VJ partner so will be really visual.
