From the 17th-20th March 2022, award-winning Irish pub Malones Glasgow will be hosting the St Patrick’s Festival Weekend.
The weekend will be packed full of St Patrick’s day shenanigans, including a street party, BBQs and live music across three stages, including headliners Danny Kelly, David James and Plundering Sons.
Malones Glasgow is Irish owned and Irish run, and has been shortlisted as one of the best Irish bars in the country, as well as winning an award for best gastropub. The event will be sponsored by Malones Triple Cask Irish Whiskey. Here’s what to expect.
Thursday 17th: St Patrick’s Day itself promises plenty of craic. Revellers can join the celebration of Irish culture both inside the pub and on the street outside, which will be cordoned off ready for a street party to remember. Mountains of meat will be grilled on the Paddy’s day BBQ, accompanied by pop-up bars offering the best pint of Guinness in town. To accompany top food and drink, live music from up-and-coming Irish artists will ring out from the three stages, both on the street and inside the pub. Entry on the 17th March is £5 on the door.
Friday 18th: The festivities will continue as we head towards the weekend, on Friday the 18th Malones Triple Cask Irish Whiskey will take over with more live music and drinks deals. Better still, entry is free!
Saturday 19th is Super Saturday, an all-day street party, rolling the St Patrick’s day weekend and the Six Nations finals all into one. Massive screens will be set up outside the pub, showing every Six Nations final live. Pop-up bars and a tasty BBQ will add to the lively atmosphere, while inside live music can be enjoyed. Entry is £5 on the door.
Sunday the 20th may be the last day of the festival, but it’s certainly not a wind down. There’ll be free entry, drinks will be flowing and there’ll be more live music from some of the best Irish musicians in Glasgow. We’ll once again be open until 3am.
