Strip Joint Pizza Place & Drinkmonger opens in Finnieston this Friday. The new venue is the latest venture from the team behind Slouch, The Howlin Wolf and the recently launched Bag O Nails.
Long standing local bar Bannisters is getting a makeover and returning with stonebaked pizza, Krusovice Tank Beer and over 100 spirits from across the globe.

Finnieston is currently famous for its moustachioed hipsters. Seen riding penny farthings up and down Argyle Street on their way to pick up clementine scented beard oil & vegan flip flops for their holidays in Berlin. Adding another string to its artisan handcrafted bow Finnieston now has Strip Joint.
First we should talk about our pizza. Forty eight hour aged dough, hand rolled, stone baked and covered in our house sugo with toppings of your choice. Our pizzas are rustica style and when we say they barely fit on the two foot long pizza paddle you’ll know your getting value for money.
We will be bringing Krusovice Tank Beer to Glasgow for the first time. Brewery fresh, Unpasteurised, unfiltered and naturally carbonated this is the cleanest, crisp most refreshing pint you’ll ever have. The lager is direct from the brewery in vacuum sealed tanks straight to our gantry tank.
The pressure in the tank means that unlike your regular pint C02 is not added to give it fizz, its all natural. The pasteurisation process your usual pint goes through can remove flavour and subtlety. With tank beer the liquid is maturing in the tank and only hits oxygen once we fill your pint glass.
There will a also be an extensive cocktail list featuring small batch bourbons, boutique gin, tequila and mezcal. The house cocktails will all be named after famous live music venues past and present from around the world. Look for the CBGB featuring Stolichnaya vodka mixed with fresh strawberries and berries or The Barras with brugal anejo rum, cointreau & blue bols with fresh lime.
Launching on the site of former pub Bannisters with a £500,000 investment, refurbishment work started in October. The revamped look will feature a new bar and gantry position and open plan kitchen. Original features like fireplaces and brickwork will be retained along with new bay windows.
With the Hydro continuing to be one of the busiest music venues in the world, Strip Joint will be geared towards music fans as it attempts to find its place alongside Finnieston’s existing strip of bars and restaurants.
