The pub is dead, long live the pub. Previously known as the Partick Tavern, the venue has a new lease of life as a music bar called Bag O’Nails. Named after a famous Soho bar from the Sixties – it was the first place Jimi Hendrix played guitar – Bag O’ Nails is on Dumbarton Road.
As well as a well stocked bar with a wide range of bourbons and craft beers, there is an interesting food menu with signature dishes including steamed Cantonese dumplings filled with everything from haggis to short rib and corn-fed chicken breast served with roasted vine tomatoes, a mushroom duxelle, champit mash and a Laphroaig whisky sauce. Enjoy their deluxe mac ‘n’cheese made with smoked Arran cheddar and Grana Padano with a pint of William Bros Joker IPA.
The bar is being masterminded by Mark Lappin, Paul Bright and Gerry Tartaglia. They have plans for Finnieston pub Bannisters which will also be a live music venue that sells food and drink.
