The picture above is from a Mov’in Bed Outdoor Cinema event that took place in Australia. In the last few days it has been posted to multiple event pages on Facebook that all link back to an entity calling itself Tublife. One of the pages is for an event in Glasgow.
Last year the same website promised to host Glasgow’s only hot tub cinema event. It never happened. This year they are advertising an outdoor cinema with airbeds and collecting a steady flow of likes and interactions.
Tublife, calling itself SnugLife this year, creates event pages using images from events that they did not organise – their outdoor cinema events page from 2019 featured images from Germany.
On their own sparce website there is a short video of a party which can be placed at a Liverpool hotel but apart from that there is no evidence of spectacular events that span the UK’s largest cities.
There are no reports or pictures to suggest that the company hosted any of the events that they promoted on Facebook last year. Their Instagram account is empty.
The pages accumulate data from people liking on Facebook and submitting their email to the website.
It appears that the event pages are then deleted, leaving folk to wonder why a venue was never announced for the cinema events they were interested in, whether they be hot tub or inflatable bed related.
Comments online have flagged the pages as being a Facebook data mining scam to collect details by promoting fake events in a series of locations and have warned against liking the event pages or sharing information.
We have contacted the owners of the Glasgow event page for comment. Over 12,000 people have added themselves to the page as “interested”.
