Peter Kay has cancelled his first tour in eight years. All 100 dates of his planned Peter Kay Live Arena Tour, including eight nights at The SSE Hydro, will not now take place due to ‘unforeseen family circumstances.’
An announcement on his Facebook page read: “Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.”
“This includes my upcoming stand-up tour, Dance for Life shows and any outstanding live work commitments.”
“My sincerest apologies,” he continued, insisting the decision had not been ‘taken lightly.’
“I’m sure you’ll understand that my family must always come first.” he said. “I’ve always endeavoured to protect my family’s privacy from the media. I hope that the media and the public will continue to respect our privacy at this time. Once again, I’m very sorry.”
Fans will be refunded from their original point of purchase. Ticket holders should contact their vendor directly.
