Glasgow’s Radisson RED is staging two fund-raising parties to support charities, continuing the work the iconic hotel has done since Covid struck to raise awareness and cash for good causes as part of a continuing series of events in their RED Sky Bar. Hospitality charity The Ben will see further support coming their way, as will The Beatson, The Catherine McEwan Foundation and St Andrews Hospice.
The Ben – The Benevolent Fund – is a hospitality industry charity which Radisson RED and Curator Graham Chalmers are deeply passionate about, so October 29 sees a party dedicated to them. With Groove City Radio broadcasting the event, the line up features Sub Club legend Harri plus the hotel resident DJs Beth, Hyslop, Austin, Vilmos and Woody.
They will be joined by Groove City Radio stars Paul Mulholland and Jay Gunning, with the party running from 5pm until 1am. Tickets are available from Eventbrite priced £10, with a free drink on arrival included.
Graham told us: “The Ben is a charity that’s needed more now than ever, the work they have done over the last couple of years has been priceless in saving businesses, careers, jobs and indeed lives.
“We are proud to work with them in any way we can, and staging this party to raise money and help promote the work they do is a privilege. So please dig deep and support this fantastic cause.”
Chris Gardner, Chief Executive of The Ben, is thrilled at the continued support. She said: “The BEN week is a chance for the charity to spread the word of the help we offer and raise awareness. If you don’t know about us, we can’t help.

As well as that, there’s a collaboration with Colours and Streetrave, who staged countless massive stream events through the lockdown periods, including a number of hugely successful events at Radisson RED Sky Bar.
Now they’re back to mark the launch of their Lockdown Legends Box Set with a party in person in the rooftop bar next Saturday, October 16. There’s a stellar line-up, with Jay Weardon back to back with Darren from 808 State, playing a Manchester 89-91 set, plus Michael Kilkie, Collin Patterson, Billy Morris and Stevie Green.
It runs from 6pm-1am and tickets are available priced £10 from Skiddle.
Streetrave’s Ricky Magowan said: “On Sunday the 29th of Dec 2019 we celebrated 30 years of STREETrave with a sell-out gig at the legendary Sub Club, little did we know that this would be our last show before COVID hit our world.
“So we planned to bring Streetrave into your homes via live streams. DJs and acts from near and far stepped up to the virtual DJ box and produced some of the
most streamed sets on the planet from venues like The Radisson RED Sky Bar which boasts the best backdrop in the UK.
“18 months later we have 10 incredible streams, 100 mixes, and a staggering 10million global views! But best of all, you the Streetrave family have helped raise over £100,000 for Scottish charities who were massively hit by the pandemic.
“And now we are celebrating with a live party in the Radisson RED Sky Bar featuring some of our favourite DJs, with all funds from tickets going to The Beatson, St Andrew’s Hospice and the Catherine McEwan Foundation.”
Sunday October 24 sees Michael Kilkie and Jon Mancini return with their hugely popular Guilty Pleasures series. Graham said: “Jon and Michael have been our in-house stars of lockdown, at the heart of everything we have done – they’re true legends of dance music not just in Scotland and they will always be part of the family here at Radisson RED.”
While Paul N’Jie makes his debut at the RED Sky Bar on November 19 with R&B 2000s, a new concept featuring the very best of classic cuts, with Kash and Austin
joining Scotland’s king of smooth grooves. Graham said: “We always want to lead the way here at Radisson RED. We want to deliver
the very best in entertainment to our guests and our friends.”
