The Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run will take place in and around Glasgow on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October. Thousands of runners will be descending on the city for the popular annual event which includes 10k and half marathon routes.
Road closures and parking restrictions will come in to effect for the duration of the events with Glasgow City Council’s Parking Enforcement Unit removing any vehicles parked on designated streets. Signs and parking cones indicating the temporary parking restrictions will be displayed in these locations to assist motorists.
Road closures and diversion routes will be clearly sign-posted with every effort being made to keep traffic flowing as freely and smoothly as possible.
Saturday closures will focus on the streets around George Square, including Hannover Street, Ingram Street between Queen St and Glassford St, the entire length of the Trongate, Hutcheson and Brunswick streets and South Frederick St.
Roads will be closed from 8am with reopening aimed for 3pm for some routes – although other streets will remain closed until Sunday.
Sunday will see designated zones across Glasgow closed – the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run map below shows which areas will be affected when.
