This summer, Ed Sheeran is set to play at Hampden as part of his 2018 UK Stadium Tour. There are still limited tickets available for a few last seats and dates, but anyone wishing to see Sheeran in action should move fast. Resale tickets are being sold for up to 10 times the face value.
Sheeran was first scheduled to play in Glasgow on Friday, June 1st, but tickets for this date pretty much sold out within minutes. Two more dates were added in Glasgow, as well as further dates in London due to popular demand. Sheeran will also play Hampden on Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd.
The tour begins at the Manchester Etihad Stadium and will be in Scotland less than a week later. Sheeran will also perform in Cork, Dublin, Galway, Newcastle, London and Cardiff before heading over to Europe. Ever the busy man, the UK tour begins only a couple of months after the end of his world tour, which finishes in New Zealand in April.
The Hampden gigs will bring some summer excitement to the home of the Scottish football team, which will sadly not be featuring in World Cup fixtures in Russia this year. The next football game at Hampden Park, will be a friendly between Scotland and Costa Rica on Friday, March 23rd. After that, there’s not much going on at the Stadium until Ed Sheeran fills it with adoring fans.
Tickets for the UK leg of the Sheeran tour went on sale at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 8th last year and since then, have been some of the hottest tickets in town. Only a few tour dates remain where tickets are still available. Fans in Glasgow will be pleased to know there are limited tickets still on sale to watch Ed Sheeran at the Hampden Stadium. These include:
• Friday, June 1st – Limited tickets available via Ticketmaster. No standing tickets and a small selection of single seat only tickets, such as in Block A2 and K3.
• Saturday, June 2nd – Limited tickets available from Tickets Scotland for Block P2.
• Sunday, June 3rd – Tickets still available from Tickets Scotland. Pitch standing tickets available, as well as seating on Block I5, P2 and Sunday is currently the best option for anyone who still wants to see Ed Sheeran at the Hampden Stadium, especially those who want to experience the gig standing or seated with friends. Most tickets available cost £75 plus a £7.50 booking fee.
All three of Ed Sheeran‘s albums have topped the U.K. and international charts, and he has had five number one UK singles and 21 singles make the top 10.
