Stravaigin explore international flavours with monthly event series

21st July 2018 by Paul Trainer

Stravaigin is one of the best known restaurants in the city. Now there are even more reasons to visit as the West End favourite will be hosting a series of events exploring different international cuisines. Each month a different menu will be constructed with flavours which reflect their own motto.

Jessica Bruce told Glasgowist: “Our ethos of ‘Think Global, Eat Local’ is encapsulated by our name – ‘stravaig’ is an old Scots word meaning ‘to wander’. We’ve always considered ourselves to be culinary wanderers, taking pride in using local produce to create internationally-inspired Scottish dishes. Now, we’re setting off on a world tour with our One-Night-Wander series—one night, five courses, celebrating a different global focus each month.”

There was the chance to visit the Caribbean this week, with a quirky five course feast. Dishes included a squid salad, curried coconut goat, cured salmon and jerk pork belly.

Look out for updates on the Stravaigin Facebook page for the next event in August.
