Rogue One, the artist behind many of Scotland’s most photographed public artworks, has been announced as the first guest for Conversations at the Chip, a new series of events by Ubiquitous Chip inviting the country’s leading creative figures to share their images, ideas and inspirations.
The first event is taking place on Wednesday 21st of September at the Ashton Lane venue and will give the public a rare opportunity to hear direct from the renowned but elusive street artist Bobby McNamara aka Rogue One.
Known for his incredible works across Scotland, including in Glasgow’s The World’s Most Economical Taxi mural in Mitchell Lane and Crazy Cat Lady as well as the beautiful montage wrapping The Clutha and depictions of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Billy Connolly, John Byrne, Paolo Nutini and Sharleen Spiteri, Rogue One In Conversation will be an unmissable opportunity to hear from the artist direct in an intimate environment.
Set within The Brasserie at Ubiquitous Chip, Rogue One will join host Paul Trainer, founder of Glasgowist, as he reflects on his 30-year career at the forefront of the country’s street art movement.
Guests will be taken on a visual journey spanning ROGUE ONE’s early graffiti works, productions with friends, and his most memorable commissions across Scotland for clients including VisitScotland, Glasgow City Council, housing associations and residential landlords, educational establishments, and numerous private customers. Rogue One will also exclusively share details of an exciting new major project in Glasgow on the night.
Tickets to this unique event cost £40 per person and include a drinks reception by X by Glenmorangie and three course supper curated by Brasserie Head Chef, Maccy.
