We’ve probably listened to more music over the last four weeks than we have over the last four years. It’s been an opportunity to revisit albums that were important at the time but faded into the distance as time went on.
The playlist has been led, in part, by the #TimsListeningParty hashtag on Twitter – online events organised by Tim Burgess of The Charlatans, aimed at uniting people in song during this period of social distancing.
People listen to the same album at the same time while the band talk through their recollections with Tweets in real-time.
We’ve had Franz Ferdinand and Mogwai represent Glasgow so far.
Next up from the local scene, Belle and Sebastian will host a listening party for The Boy With The Arab Strap – their breakthrough third studio album released in 1998.
Listen from start to finish on Monday 27th April at 9pm while sharing and reading comments on Twitter.
Singer Stuart Murdoch invites you to join the band for “melodies, maladies and memories”.
