Cluedo, the play based on the classic board game, opened in Glasgow this week. The tour marks the play’s UK premiere, after being based on a US production, which was in turn based on the classic film ‘Clue’
This highly entertaining play follows the instantly recognisable characters from the board game: Miss Scarlett (Michelle Collins), Professor Plum (Daniel Casey), Colonel Mustard (Wesley Griffith), Mrs White (Etisyai Philip), Mrs Peacock (Judith Amsenga) and Reverend Green (Tom Babbage), as they are invited to a dinner party. However, a series of murders means the party turns into a ‘whodunnit’ mystery.
All the classic characters are extremely engaging, with the actors bringing their own characteristics to bring them to life. Additional character Mr Wadsworth – the butler – , played by Jean-Luke Worrel, is a scene stealer whose high energy, hilarious performance is a real stand out. The fast paced story is bound to keep everyone entertained until the end, which is well worth the wait. Overall, Cluedo is a play full of twists and turns that everyone will enjoy.
