Correspondence from The Golden Pheasant, a bar and restaurant in the wee village of Auchinloch, just outside of Lenzie, with beautiful views over the Campsie Hills. Part of their menu is based around their own produce. They grow their own vegetables. They also keep their own chickens.
Fraser Gunn wrote to Glasgowist today to tell us about them. “The chicken are all fed organic pellets and are free roaming in their large outdoor pen. We get very large eggs from our chickens and use them in a variety of dishes on our menu. Thought your readers might like to see them. Thanks in advance!”
So, for your consideration, here is a large organic, free-range egg from a chicken in Auchinloch versus a large store bought egg. Spot the difference?
