After nine world premieres, 10 European premieres, 102 UK premieres and 39 Scottish premieres, Glasgow Film Festival has drawn to a close. Organisers have hailed another success as 43,147 people attended the 12-day run of events, a new record, up from an impressive 42,224 last year.

Stars including Geoge Mackay, Simon Pegg and Celia Imrie attended screenings of their films and there were public interview and exhibition events that delved into cinema culture.
Allan Hunter, the co-director of the festival said: “We presented a programme with a diverse, wide-ranging spectrum of cinema experiences and audiences have responded magnificently.
“One of the joys of the festival is to see the passion for films as diverse as Arracht, Les Miserables and Our Ladies and the warmth of the welcome for a guest list that included, Alice Winocour, Celia Imrie, Simon Pegg and Ingvar Sigurdsson.
“Our audiences are a tonic and an inspiration.”
