Glasgow Plant Mama will be hosting an Urban Jungle Pop-up at Glasgow’s favourite new gastropub, The Dukes Umbrella, from 12-5pm on Sunday 19th September. Emma Kelsey, will be showcasing a wide variety of exciting houseplants, offering care tips, and “everything else you could possibly need to grow your own indoor jungle” in the run up to her new shop opening in the Merchant City, and the Duke’s Umbrella is the perfect place for it.
The Duke’s Umbrella’s General Manager, Craig McKay said: “We love all Emma’s work, as do our customers and we recently had a TV crew visit to film a new cold case thriller for ITV called Karen Pirie and I’m pretty sure her plants make an appearance!”
“On the day we’ll have food and drinks offers on and there’s plenty of space and light for your plants to relax whilst you have a light bite, Sunday Roast, lunch or a drink with us, the event is free and there’s no need to book.”
The Plant Mama specialises in easy care and air purifying plants. Each plant from Plant Mama has been acclimated to living and being looked after in a Scottish home, promising the highest of quality.
Amid the uncertainty of several lockdowns, it is easy to see how the Plant Mama has created such an incredible community of plant lovers both online, through pop-ups, and now from her soon to open, Merchant City store. The beauty of nature and the outdoors has proven to reduce stress and increase serotonin levels, giving us a feeling of vastness and calm. Emma’s business demonstrates that indoors, plants can do the exact same thing for us, and have proven to be a real mood-booster for many within this community.
