Despite the current lockdown, Kelvingrove Café, is continuing to create cocktails from behind closed doors. Earlier this week the Finnieston favourite unveiled the first in a new series of ‘How to’ videos dedicated to celebrating some of the best classic-serve cocktails.
Forget shakers and muddlers – it turns out all you need to make your own cocktail at home is ice, a variety of spirits and a spoon. In the first video, which you can view below, one of Kelvingrove Café’s award-winning
bartenders dons blue surgical gloves to prepare a classic Negroni, one of the bar’s most popular cocktails.
General Manager, Kirstie Addis, said, “For the safety of all of us, we are stuck in our homes under lockdown – but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a proper cocktail! It’squite amazing what you can dig out from the back of your drinks cabinet.
“Hopefully our videos will help people beat lockdown-boredom and inspire a bit of creativity when it comes to drink making.”
In addition to the classic cocktail videos, Kelvingrove Café are inviting people to contact them detailing the contents of their drinks cabinet – however obscure – with the promise that they will transform them into a tasty drink. Get in touch on their Facebook page and tell them your ingredients.
Kelvingrove Café will return at 1161 Argyle Street.
