Talk of the Town: Texas to Tour for 30th Anniversary of Southside

In 1986, Johnny McElhone, previously of Altered Images and Hipsway, formed the band Texas in Glasgow with Sharleen Spiteri on lead vocals. Their debut album Southside was released in 1989, with first single I Don’t Want a Lover becoming an international success.

Last December, Texas played a sold out hometown show at SWG3, their fastest selling show ever.

To celebrate the 30th year of Southside, the band played the entire album.

After the success of that show, Texas have decided to do the same on their forthcoming tour, coupled with a set list including all the hits.

A new album, the follow up to their 2017 release Jump On Board, will come later this year. The Southside tour will include 24 dates, including The Hydro on 17th October. Tickets are now on sale.
