TEDx Cumbernauld Women will take place for the first time on 5th December, at Cornerstone House. It will be a celebration of women from a variety of backgrounds, presenting their story in their own words. The dynamic presentations will include honest assessments of challenges and lessons to be learnt.

Running alongside the main TED Women event in Palm Springs from Dec 4th – 6th, TEDx Cumbernauld Women is your chance to join in the global conversation.
Among the 15 different speakers at the event are:
Glynis Wozniak, Actor
Half-Ukrainian Glynis Wozniak was born in Scotland, but spent a third of her life in Hong Kong as a ballet dancer before opening a kindergarten focusing on creativity and raising self esteem. She returned to Scotland and now acts on stage and screen whilst also running Shine Bright Entertainments, bringing musical theatre shows to community venues; such as care homes; dementia groups; hospitals and sheltered housing.
Angela Trainer, Psychotherapist & Author
Director of The Harvest Clinic , Angela has 30 years experience specialising in Women’s issues, and is a regular contributor on BBC Radio. She has lectured internationally on her subject to degree level, and is accredited by the Royal College of Nursing. Angela’s book, Love Never Dies, was published this year, and she is now writing Greet • Pray • Love about her personal healing journey from Breast Cancer .
Elaine Lennon, Singer
Elaine Lennon won Creative Scotland support, her highly-anticipated debut album. Strong and impactful it sets the stage for a musical career. After a career in HR, Elaine recently reassessed her ambitions and pursued her love of music. In 18 months, she went from no connections in the music industry to recording with well-respected contemporary musicians.
Natalie Queiroz, Author & Activist
Author of best selling book Still Standing, motivational speaker, award-winning passionate anti-knife crime campaigner and avid charity fundraiser. In March 2016, 8 month pregnant Natalie was the victim of a truly horrific, life-changing attack. 3 years on, Natalie has rebuilt her life and completely changed her whole career, starting up two businesses – motivational speaking, coaching & third sector consultancy work. Her story is an inspiring, empowering and moving reminder that life can always be pieced back together no matter what and be made even better.
